Exterior painting  is something that is done to protect the integrity of your home, it is also done to bring new life to your home, and make it look attractive. Here is a checklist that we have found to be useful through our own experience when choosing colors to paint the outside of your home:

1. Use the resources provided to you, such as the ones listed on this website, a color wheel which we will provide to you, or going into your local paint store. And don't be afraid to ask for suggestions from our trained professionals at Keys Home Improvement 3

2. Consider your neighbors and the Home Owners Association of your neighborhood, and start the approval process as quickly as you possibly can

3. Consider the size and scale of your home and its permanent architectural attributes such as the brick and roof

4. How does the color selection work with existing elements on the home, such as bricks, windows, and roofs? You can bring more attention by complementing them, or take attention away by contrasting them depending on your preference

5. What are some architectural areas where an accent color would highlight the attribute (accent would be the third color on a typical two tone house). Shutters, Doors, Windows, Eaves, Soffits, Peaks, Shake, Diamonds etc.

6. What colors are you drawn to, choose colors you like and you think would look good.

7. Collect images from magazines, paint swatches, pictures on this website, or even stop by that house you saw down the street with a color wheel (especially if its in your same HOA neighborhood, that always helps the approval process). Anything that you are drawn to.

8. Finally, have us do a sample of a few of your favorite colors on some areas of your house to see how it looks... Its free and very helpful
